West Oak Trails
Kaneff
- Subdivision
- 50 ha
- Oakville
Trafalgar Engineering provided civil engineering design for the West Oak Trails community in Oakville, supporting a 150-lot subdivision with integrated grading, servicing, and stormwater management. A central component of the work was the design of a stormwater management (SWM) pond with two outlets, providing both quantity and quality control in accordance with municipal requirements and the applicable Subwatershed Impact Study criteria.
The SWM facility provides approximately 15,000 m³ of storage and treats runoff from an upstream drainage area exceeding 50 hectares. Our scope included pond hydraulics and outlet control design, erosion and sediment control measures to meet regulatory requirements, and coordination of the SWM system with subdivision grading and servicing to support approvals and construction.
Dundas Sixth-Line
Cityzen
- Subdivision
- 7.1 ha
- Oakville
Trafalgar Engineering provided civil engineering design and approvals support for a three-phase residential subdivision in Oakville, Ontario, advancing the project through Draft Plan of Subdivision. The development includes stacked townhouses with underground parking, multiple residential blocks, mixed-use components, open space, and road widenings.
Our scope included preparation of the Functional Servicing Report (FSR), support for the Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA) process, and design of municipal servicing infrastructure, including the watermain, sanitary sewers, and storm sewer system. A key project constraint was West Morrison Creek, where we completed watercourse stabilization design, coordinated Conservation Authority approvals, and developed a channel diversion strategy to maintain flow conveyance and enable construction staging.
Kingscrest Subdivision
Fernbrook Homes
- Subdivision
- 2.7 ha
- Oakville
Civil engineering services were provided for the Kingscrest Subdivision, a 22-lot residential development in Oakville located near Sixteen Mile Creek and Lake Ontario. The scope supported the project through Draft Plan of Subdivision and Plan of Condominium approvals, including preparation of the Functional Servicing Report (FSR) and detailed civil design for grading, servicing, and stormwater management.
Given the proximity to sensitive receiving features, the work included an external drainage area investigation, evaluation of stormwater management alternatives, and stormwater modelling to confirm water quantity and quality control performance. “Spill” condition assessments were completed to verify safe conveyance under extreme events and to de-risk the development by confirming that overland flow routes and exceedance conditions could be managed safely within the site and adjacent constraints.
135-Unit Residential Condominium
Cityzen Development Group
- Condominium
- 0.98 ha
- Etobicoke
A Site Plan Application was advanced for a 135-unit residential condominium in Toronto, featuring a private driveway, underground parking, and resident amenity space. Detailed design services covered water, wastewater, and stormwater management, integrating servicing layouts within a constrained underground structure. Fire flow requirements were confirmed using the Fire Underwriters Survey method to support municipal review. Stormwater design aligned with the City of Toronto Wet Weather Flow Management Guidelines and addressed water balance, water quality and quantity control, and erosion and sediment control. An orifice-controlled outlet and an underground cistern/tank were incorporated into the parking level to manage storage, release rates, and site discharge performance while supporting constructability.
Erin Mills Town Centre
Daniels HR Corporation
- Intensification / Towers
- 2.03 ha
- Mississauga
Planning and detailed civil engineering support was provided to advance OPA, rezoning, and site plan approvals for a multi-phase intensification project at Erin Mills Town Centre. The development includes three residential towers with mixed uses at the lower floors and podium levels, supported by underground parking. The civil scope covered water, wastewater, and stormwater management, including detailed culvert hydraulics and hydraulic grade line analysis to confirm system capacity and mitigate surcharge risk. A low impact development strategy incorporated rainwater harvesting, infiltration measures, and underground plastic chamber storage to manage on-site runoff and promote recharge. A treatment train approach was integrated to achieve Level 1 enhanced water quality. A coordinated servicing strategy was developed to de-risk approvals and enable each phase to proceed independently while maintaining overall infrastructure integration.
